About My Work

I have always been inspired to create work that seeks an essence of some aspect of nature with an emphasis on abstraction, color, surface and layering. My process usually combines printing, drawing and painting while incorporating muslin, washi, ink, graphite, and oil paints with encaustic. My body of encaustic work titled “INSIDE OUT” is an ongoing series examining origins, connections and self portrait experiences . I use my interest and research in fiber/textiles, and natural forms to build imagery derived from trees, stones, labyrinths, skeins, sacred knots, quipu, and handwriting to suggest strength, vitality, continuum, nourishment, and ancestral links.

Hello Friends,

I am taking a huge pause from exhibiting my work and focusing on new ways my creativity can exist in the world. 2020 has brought a historic cultural shift in so many ways and I am taking some needed time to reflect. I hope you will too. Be safe, be healthy, and be kind.
