KSL Studio History


 For new visitors to this site, here are some throw back photos of where I make work in Seattle. This studio remodel was designed and ventilated specifically for encaustic painting, and textile printing and dyeing. It was not a quick project and had many different phases before completion.

complete roof replacement...

new full size windows and used double doors....

Ventilation (2 fan combo) for three work stations completed....continues up into loft storage area

 Cement floors painted using mops, turkey basters, and oil based paint and 4' x 8' work tables designed and built in studio

Ceiling lights, ventilation and sky lights

studio shop sink on far right is a bathtub raised up...great for rinsing dyed fabric

Stove top for making encaustic medium and making natural dyes from scratch

Heating natural dyed fabrics to remove wax resist.
