Dimensional Invention - Exhibition at Kirkland Arts Center

Last night I went to the opening of Dimensional Invention at the Kirkland Arts Center. Six artists from Seattle exhibit the development of their ideas through 2D and 3D installations. The exhibit features magical and fantastical creatures, clusters of sea-like forms, architecture inspired three-dimensional drawings, playful cloud installations using industrial materials, site-specific domestic environments, and structures that humanize architecture with a surprising amount of personality. Please visit Kirkland Arts Center as well as Art Zone in Studio 4/16/09 to view two great interviews of artist Whiting Tennis in his studio. So interesting to hear about his work and his process........

Art House - Sketchbook Project 3 gets a CNN Interview

Shane Zucker and Steven Peterman of Art House Gallery and Co-op in Atlanta, GA were interviewed by CNN to talk about the success of The Sketchbook Project - Volume 3 that has been touring around the U.S. this spring. It is now at the Museum of Design Atlanta (MODA) until April 16, 2009. We have yet to hear when this interview will air but I will post details as I get them. Go to arthousecoop.com to see photos of Shane and Steven during their interview.

I love to see the sketchbooks from the show.......So keep posting those photos! Maybe eventually I will see a photo of my sketchbook in the mix of piles.
